Crump Place

Crump Place was built in 1836 by Samuel McCorkle, one of the founding fathers of Holly Springs. Union soldiers were housed here during the Civil War. It was the childhood home of E.H. “Boss”Crump, Jr. Boss Crump was elected mayor of Memphis in 1909 and continued to be a major political figure in Tennessee until his death in 1954.

Crump Place was owned by the McCorkle/Crump family until 1962. It then became a family home for the Holt family and later the Woods family. David Person bought and restored Crump Place in 2002-2004. Martin and Dawn Donnelly purchased the home in 2016 and live there with their son, J.R.
